for teresa

my wonderful, amazing friend teresa in tennesse just started her blog a week ago and has more posts and photos than i do! (i don’t have ANY photos, so she’s way ahead of me.) i am so impressed at how blogs help us keep up with family and friends and we don’t have to interrupt them with a phone call. (i’m not a fan of the phone as my family will attest.) teresa is a brand new empty nester. i dread that day, but watching her go through it so courageously is encouraging. teresa and i have known each other for what seems like forever! (what was it teresa? first grade, second grade?) i can’t remember NOT knowing her. unfortunately i moved away from tennessee in the 7th grade. but through all these years we’ve stayed in contact and i treasure her friendship. great friends are hard to find. i’m glad she’s my friend! by the way, we’re in our forties now. i hope we are able to enjoy seeing each other become grandmothers!

lots of love to you teresa!

hola, mis amigos

hunter and i are in our 5th week of our spanish class. it has been tough, but fun. if you ever want to take spanish at saddleback college, definitely sign up with profesora kihyet. she is wonderful! today we went to chronic tacos so we could order our meal in spanish. that was fun! we have covered 18 weeks of spanish 1 in 6 weeks. speed spanish! i’ve fed my brain so much information that it went into overload a few times this past month. the great thing is that i managed to retain some of that information, a decent portion of it, too. retrieval of the info is a bit slow, but it comes.

summer is never long enough. especially when you spend it at school. however, this has been an awesome experience. it has been the toughest class i’ve had so far at saddleback. but, i’ve stretched and grown. i stepped way outside my comfort zone and i discovered it was fun. learning is fun. i’ll keep on doing it. i just might take that trig class i was considering…

adios para hoy. hasta luego.
